Project Title: Evaluate a Camera as a Model for the Human Eye
Focus Area:
To identify which parts of a camera function like parts of the human eye, and to compare their similarities and differences.
Output of the Project:
Students discovered how both systems are designed to capture images:
✔️ Similarities – The camera lens is like the eye’s cornea and lens, both focus light. The camera shutter is like the pupil, controlling the amount of light entering.
✔️ Differences – Unlike cameras, eyes have a retina with living cells that send signals to the brain, while cameras use sensors or film. Through this project, students gained a deeper understanding of how science and technology connect, and how inventors often use nature as a model for design.
