⚖️ Inquiry in Action: Uncovering the Principles of Physics ⚖️
22/10/2025
At Tara’s International School, we believe the most profound learning happens when students move from the textbook to the laboratory.
This week, our physics students are engaged in a hands-on investigation of Hooke’s Law.
🔹 Objective: Not just to memorize a formula, but to discover the fundamental relationship between force and extension through experimentation.
🔹 In the Lab: Students apply different forces (masses) to springs.
They measure the resulting stretch and record their findings.
Data is collected, tabulated, and graphed by the students themselves.
hrough analysis, they empirically derive the spring constant (k) and experience that exciting “Eureka!” moment when a clear linear relationship appears.
🔹 Why It Matters: This foundational experiment is a cornerstone of our STEM curriculum.
It cultivates critical thinking, data analysis, and scientific inquiry.
These are the very skills essential for success in IB Diploma and A-Level programmes.
🔹 Our Commitment:
We are not just teaching physics —
We are nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and meticulous problem-solvers.
👏 Compliments to our outstanding Science Department and our dedicated students for their impressive work and enthusiasm in the lab!🔬
