⚖️🧪 Baking Soda and Vinegar Experiment

25/07/2026

Our Year 8 students explored one of the fundamental principles of chemistry through the “Baking Soda and Vinegar Experiment.”

During the practical, students combined baking soda and vinegar to observe a chemical reaction that produced carbon dioxide gas. They carefully measured the mass of the substances before and after the reaction, discovering that the total mass remained constant, even though the substances changed into new products.

This investigation demonstrated the Law of Conservation of Mass, helping students understand that matter is neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction it simply changes form.

The project strengthened students’ understanding of chemical reactions, conservation of mass, gas formation, and scientific measurement, while developing their observation, data recording, and analytical skills through hands on experimental learning. 🧪✨
